Busan City will hold the "2023 Busan International Seafood Expo (BISFE 2023)" for three days from November 1 to 3 at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1.

Busan City to Host the '2023 Busan International Fisheries Expo' Busan International Fisheries Expo.

This event is organized to promote the overseas market expansion and domestic market revitalization of the Korean seafood industry through business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) transactions.

The event is hosted by the city and organized by BEXCO and the Korea Fisheries Trade Association.

Since its first edition in 2003, the Busan International Seafood Expo has grown into the only comprehensive seafood expo in Korea, enhancing the status of Busan as a marine capital.

By continuously promoting active marketing such as B2B consultation meetings with overseas companies, it has strengthened its international achievements and status as a trade-centered exhibition, also serving as a platform for fisheries diplomacy with major countries abroad.

As a result of contributing to international trade and the revitalization of the seafood industry, it has obtained international certification from the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) and was selected as a promising exhibition certified by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy from 2008 to 2022.

Especially this year, the event will be held as the largest comprehensive seafood expo in Korea, featuring 1,200 booths from 430 companies across 22 countries, including seafood food companies and seafood equipment companies from both domestic and overseas.

From overseas, 112 companies from 21 countries will participate to widely promote their products, and academic and professional events related to seafood will be held simultaneously, expected to further enhance the status of Busan as a marine capital.

The main events include ▲Opening Ceremony ▲Exhibition ▲International Trade Events ▲Academic Events ▲Side Events, offering a variety of attractions and entertainment for citizens.

The opening ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on November 1, with about 40 dignitaries from Busan City, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and related organizations attending to celebrate the expo’s opening.

The exhibition will feature the Seafood Hall, Seafood Equipment Hall, Seafood Startup Investment Promotion Hall, Marine Bio Hall, and Theme Hall. The international trade events will include trade consultation meetings with invited overseas buyers, online and offline export consultations, and import consultations with domestic distributors of imported seafood, all held at the side event venues.

In addition, various academic events such as the Busan Fisheries Policy Forum, the Korea Fisheries Science Federation International Academic Conference, and the Busan Fisheries Policy Forum will be held. Tasting events and discount and prize events will also be conducted to provide citizens with diverse attractions and entertainment.

Furthermore, following the second discharge of contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan (October 5), a seafood mutual discount consumption promotion event will be held to promote the safety of domestic seafood and stimulate consumption.

A direct seafood market will be operated where seafood can be purchased at affordable prices, and simultaneously, a daily event will provide discount coupons worth 5,000 KRW to the first 300 visitors each day.
