All-in-one IP business platform BIGC (CEO Kim Mi-hee) announced on the 30th that it has signed an MOU with Cafe24 to build a creator IP monetization system based on YouTube shopping solutions.
BIGC is an IP business tech startup that helps media and entertainment companies, artists monetize their IP and grow fandoms. It operates services such as BIGC Studio, an all-in-one IP business platform for entertainment companies, broadcasters, and creators with content and IP (intellectual property rights), and BIGC Moment, a platform for K-pop artists and fans.
Since officially launching BIGC Studio in November last year, BIGC has supported online monetization of K-pop concerts and IP business through partnerships with individual creators as well as various entertainment and media companies. It provides technology optimized for global concerts and SaaS solution-based technology for online commercialization of overseas conventions such as CJ ENM’s K-CON LA and Saudi Arabia this year, and last month successfully held the largest on- and offline concert of the second half of the year in collaboration with MBC Idol Radio.
BIGC offers live services and global commerce services to fans in over 100 countries, featuring global live streaming, AI hosts, and interactive communication functions. Through the BIGC Moment service, it has directly hosted global fan concerts for various artists including K-pop musicians WONHO, Infinite’s Jang Dong-woo, Kara’s Kim Gyuri, dancer Aiki, and musical actress Lee Ji-hye, accumulating know-how in fandom business. Based on this technology and expertise, BIGC plans to expand IP monetization and fandom care know-how to content IP and the creator market centered on YouTube channels in partnership with Cafe24.
Cafe24 is a leading domestic e-commerce platform company that provides one-stop solutions and services to “sellers” conducting online business in the global e-commerce market. Previously, in December last year, Cafe24 launched the “YouTube Shopping Integration Service” with YouTube, enabling creators to easily sell products through live streaming. Notably, it supported the establishment of beauty creator “Ssin-nim”’s shopping mall “Neva & Nunique” and its integration with YouTube Shopping.
BIGC plans to integrate Cafe24’s YouTube shopping integration technology into BIGC Studio to improve usability and accessibility for BIGC creators’ IP product sales. In addition to simply providing technology, it will actively build an IP monetization system utilizing YouTube commerce, covering everything from branding of creators and IP to product planning and curation. Cafe24 plans to contribute to the expansion of the YouTube commerce market based on BIGC’s partnership capabilities with creators and artists.
Song Jong-seon, head of Cafe24’s Marketing Innovation (MI) division, said, “IP containing creators’ creativity can lead to enormous added value creation in the global e-commerce market,” adding, “We will contribute to the growth of the creator ecosystem through advanced e-commerce technology and YouTube shopping integration.”
BIGC CEO Kim Mi-hee stated, “YouTube is a space where creators’ global fans gather, and BIGC will support all aspects of One IP revenue diversification models, from IP branding to commerce, so that creators can focus solely on fan communication and creation.”
