Celine Boutier (France) was the first to secure her fourth victory.
On the 29th, at the Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (par 72, 6246 yards), during the final round of the LPGA Tour Maybank Championship (total prize money $3 million), she shot 8-under-par to tie with Atthaya Thitikul (Thailand) at 21-under-par 267. Then, on the 9th hole of the playoff resumed at the 15th hole (par 3), she made the winning birdie. This marked her fourth win of the season and sixth overall, two months after winning the Scottish Women's Open in August, with a winner's prize of $450,000 (approximately 600 million KRW).
Boutier started from a tie for 8th place, 5 strokes behind, and collected 8 birdies without any bogeys. She reduced 4 strokes in the front nine with three consecutive birdies from holes 3 to 5 and a birdie on the 8th hole (par 3). In the back nine, she added three consecutive birdies from holes 11 to 13 and another birdie on the 16th hole (par 4). She missed the fairway only once and had 25 putts during the round. After a fierce 9-hole playoff battle moving between the 18th hole (par 5) and the 15th hole, Boutier clinched the thrilling victory trophy.
