Gaza Strip Communications Partially Restored After Two Days

Communications in the Gaza Strip, where a war is ongoing between Israel and the Palestinian armed group Hamas, have been partially restored after two days, CNN and others reported on the 29th (local time), citing announcements from local telecommunications companies.

According to reports, the Palestinian telecommunications company PALTEL announced via social media that wired and wireless phone and internet services in the Gaza Strip are gradually being restored. PALTEL stated, "Despite the severity of the situation on the ground, our technical team is doing their best to repair as much network damage as possible."

Another telecommunications company, JAWWAL, also reported that it is restoring communication services. The global internet monitoring company NetBlocks told X that "real-time network data shows that internet connectivity in the Gaza Strip is being restored."

Internet and phone connections across the Gaza Strip had been cut off since the 27th due to the expansion of ground operations by the Israeli military.
