SKT Takes Steps to Enhance Employee AI Capabilities to Become a Global AI Company

On the 29th, SK Telecom announced that it will officially launch an AI literacy capability enhancement program for all employees to leap forward as a global AI company. This reflects the strong will of President Yu Young-sang that all SKT members must become the main drivers of AI transformation to evolve into a global AI company.

SKT has established a new AI education program consisting of three levels?Basic & Intermediate, Advanced, and Market Top?considering employees' job roles and capabilities.

At the 'Basic & Intermediate' level, training is provided to understand major generative AI technologies and develop the ability to utilize generative AI in daily tasks. The 'Basic' level focuses on learning fundamental theories about key generative AI technologies. Based on this, the 'Intermediate' level covers how to use various AI programs and how to automate repetitive daily tasks to improve work efficiency.

At the 'Advanced' level, employees receive training to actively transform business models using AI. The 'Market Top' level is designed for AI developers. SKT also conducts a separate training program for team leaders across the company, introducing specific cases and methods to apply AI in team tasks, encouraging all employees to actively participate in AI literacy education.

An Jung-hwan, head of SKT's corporate culture division, stated, “AI literacy is an essential competency and qualification for SKT’s leap to becoming a global AI company,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to enhance SKT’s AI capabilities through various educational programs and reward systems.”
