Eunpyeong District Sports Center Swimming Pool Reopens in November

Eunpyeong-gu Sports Center Swimming Pool to Operate Free Swimming on 30th and 31st, Full Reopening Scheduled for November

Eunpyeong District Sports Center Swimming Pool Reopens in November

Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that the swimming pool at the Eunpyeong-gu Citizens Sports Center, located in Jingwan-dong, has completed environmental improvement works and is scheduled to reopen in November.

The Eunpyeong-gu Citizens Sports Center is a facility that has been open for over 20 years. To address safety concerns related to the aging swimming pool facilities and to provide a pleasant sports environment, remodeling work has been underway for about four months since July.

This environmental improvement project for the swimming pool included the installation of a dehumidification air conditioning system, replacement of mechanical equipment such as boilers, and replacement of the old ceiling materials to enhance facility safety. Additionally, improvements were made to the shower rooms and replacement of furniture in the changing rooms, which had been a source of inconvenience for many users, transforming the space into a more comfortable environment.

The Eunpyeong-gu Citizens Sports Center swimming pool will operate free swim sessions on the 30th and 31st, followed by a full reopening scheduled for November. Free swim sessions can be used by on-site registration at any desired time, and during this period, a discount event will be held allowing swimming at 30% off the regular price.

Eunpyeong-gu currently operates the Eunpyeong-gu Citizens Sports Center swimming pool, Eunpyeong Tongillo Sports Center, and the Eunpyeong Cheongyeoul Swimming Pool, which opened in June this year, to meet the swimming demand of its residents.

Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, “We thank the residents who have been waiting for the swimming pool to open since summer. As this facility is for the health of our residents, we have improved it so that they can use the swimming pool with peace of mind.” She added, “We will continue to support various sports activities to realize the vision of ‘a community sports city where residents are healthy and happy.’”
