Emergency Transfer of Patient Suspected of Wrist Closed Fracture on Jeju Biyangdo Island

An emergency patient suspected of having a wrist closed fracture occurred on Biyangdo Island, Jeju, and was urgently transported by the Jeju Coast Guard.


According to the Jeju Maritime Police Station on the 27th, a report was received at 2:59 PM the previous day about an emergency patient suspected of a wrist closed fracture on Biyangdo Island.

Responding to the report, the Coast Guard quickly transported the emergency patient to Hallim Port using the coastal rescue boat of Hallim Police Substation and handed over the patient to the 119 ambulance team.


The emergency patient, Ms. A (female, in her 50s), visited Biyangdo for tourism and reported pain in the upper right wrist area after falling while taking a walk nearby.


Until the coastal rescue boat of Hallim Police Substation arrived, emergency treatment was requested at the Biyangdo Health Center. Around 3:15 PM, the patient and guardian boarded the coastal rescue boat and were safely handed over to the 119 ambulance team waiting at Hallim Port at 3:28 PM on the same day, then immediately transported to the hospital.


Meanwhile, this year, the Jeju Coast Guard has safely transported a total of 32 emergency patients using patrol vessels and other means.
