This year, POSCO Future M concretized its roadmap to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 by expanding the use of renewable energy and introducing high-efficiency facilities in the environmental sector. It expanded its greenhouse gas reduction management indicators from the current direct and indirect emissions (Scope 1 and 2) to include other indirect emissions (Scope 3), covering overall corporate activities such as suppliers and logistics systems.

In the social sector, the company provided consulting to strengthen ESG capabilities up to its suppliers and expanded its supply chain focusing on social enterprises and green-certified companies. The raw materials for its main products, anode and cathode materials, use responsible minerals certified to have no human rights violations.

In the governance sector, POSCO Future M established a security and management system to protect core technologies by acquiring the international standard information security management system ‘ISO 27001’ last year. In September, it became the first company in the domestic battery materials industry to acquire the international standard compliance management system ‘ISO 37301,’ establishing a company-wide compliance management system.

A POSCO Future M official stated, "While expanding business cooperation through large-scale supply contracts with global battery and automobile manufacturers and establishing overseas joint ventures, we will also focus more on objectively and practically strengthening ESG capabilities that global stakeholders pay attention to."
