BTS Members Jin and Military Support Advertisement Published

The Japanese fan club of the group BTS published an advertisement on the front page of the June 27 issue of the Defense Daily, supporting BTS member Jin (real name Kim Seokjin, 31), who is currently serving in the military, and the Republic of Korea Armed Forces. The Defense Daily is a daily newspaper published by the Defense Media Agency under the Ministry of National Defense, primarily subscribed to by military personnel.

In the advertisement at the bottom of the front page, the BTS Japanese fan club conveyed the message: "We express our respect and gratitude for the dedication of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces personnel contributing to peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula. The Japanese ARMY (BTS fan club) continues to celebrate Jin's enlistment anniversary together."

According to the Army, Jin, who enlisted in December last year, was selected as an elite warrior and was promoted to corporal in July this year, two months earlier than regular soldiers. He is currently serving in the Army's 5th Division.

Domestic BTS fans previously placed a BTS 10th debut anniversary commemorative advertisement in the June 13 issue of the Defense Daily. That was the first time an advertisement featuring an entertainer appeared in the Defense Daily.

In that advertisement, domestic fans included a message saying, "Thank you to the proud Republic of Korea Armed Forces personnel for your dedication and hard work. We support you," along with a photo of Jin wearing purple clothes symbolizing the ARMY.
