The Born Korea announced on the 27th that it will hold the '2023 Global Barbecue Festival In Hongseong' from the 3rd to the 5th of next month around Hongju Eupseong in Hongseong-gun, Chungnam.
The Born Korea explained that it planned this festival in collaboration with Hongseong-gun to widely promote the excellence of Hongseong livestock products and revitalize the local commercial district through consumption promotion. They plan to prepare and operate various barbecue facilities.
In the main zone, The Born Korea will showcase high-quality barbecue dishes such as whole pig, chicken, and handmade garlic sausages grilled directly over fire using a specially made barbecue oven. The special oven, first introduced at the last Yesan Beer Festival, has been upgraded and its quantity significantly increased to allow more visitors to enjoy barbecue, and a newly introduced direct-fire chicken barbecue grill will also be presented.
This festival will also invite professional brands including YouTubers with deep knowledge of livestock products to offer a more diverse barbecue menu. Famous YouTubers such as Chwiyonam, who has 1.4 million subscribers, Jeongyuknam, and Muncheu will prepare Hongseong pork Osamgyeopsal platter, 3cm Jipbul Samgyeopsal, and pork ribs, while the global grill company Weber will showcase unique recipes rarely seen, such as Philly cheesesteak and roast pork.
Local merchants and livestock farmers will directly operate 40 food booths using recipes handed down by The Born Korea and offer Hongseong agricultural specialties at special festival prices, providing additional enjoyment. In addition, there will be experiential activities and celebratory performances to enjoy on-site.
Baek Jong-won, CEO of The Born Korea, said, “This festival was planned to widely promote the excellent livestock industry of Hongseong-gun and to spread the charm of unique barbecue.” He added, “We ask for the interest and participation of citizens and tourists, and we will prioritize hygiene and safety to thoroughly prepare until the last day so that visitors can have a happy time.”
