'Resolving Civil Complaint Blind Spots'... Gyeonggi-do Holds 'Ombudsman Meeting Day' Event in Ansan Gyeonggi Province held the "Ombudsman Meeting Day" event at Ansan City Hall on the 26th. The ombudsman is consulting with citizens who visited City Hall.

Gyeonggi Province held the 'Ombudsman Meeting Day' event in Ansan on the 26th to address blind spots in residents' rights and interests.

'Ombudsman Meeting Day' is an active administrative initiative where ombudsmen, composed of external experts, visit the field directly to listen to residents' voices regarding administrative dispositions and seek solutions together. This was implemented for the first time this year.

On this day, Ombudsman Ji Young-rim and Ombudsman Park Hyung-geun, together with the Ansan Citizen Ombudsman, consulted on grievance complaints at Ansan City Hall.

They also visited the Ansan Urban Corporation Transportation Vulnerable Mobility Support Center and held an on-site meeting to improve inconveniences in the special transportation service integrated and operated by the Gyeonggi Province Metropolitan Mobility Support Center since October.

The meeting was attended by officials from Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation and Ansan Urban Corporation, as well as Harmony Call counselors, leading to institutional cooperation measures such as mutual linkage of dispatch within the jurisdiction, immediate call and reservation system application by usage cases to shorten dispatch times, and expansion of counselors.

The ombudsmen are external experts guaranteed independence, and the contents directly investigated on the day are submitted as agenda items at monthly committee meetings, where resolutions are made and recommendations or opinions are expressed to administrative agencies. Administrative agencies must actively reflect these.

Choi Eun-soon, Auditor of Gyeonggi Province, emphasized, "It is a method difficult for public officials to mediate conflicts between complainants and administrative agencies or recommend administrative dispositions by having ombudsmen visit the field directly," adding, "We will actively support strengthening the role of ombudsmen to protect residents' rights and interests."

Gyeonggi Province will hold the 'Ombudsman Meeting Day' event in Gwangju on November 23.
