Jeon Cheong-jo, who announced that he is engaged to Nam Hyun-hee, a former national fencing representative, has been accused of fraud, and the police have launched an investigation.
On the 26th, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul stated that a complaint was filed alleging that Jeon embezzled 20 million won in late August this year under the pretext of investing in application (app) development.
Jeon was arrested and later released on the same day for repeatedly knocking on the door and ringing the doorbell at Nam's mother's house in Jungwon-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province, on charges of violating the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes.
A police official said, "It appears that the suspect committed the crime after the victim learned of the suspect's criminal record and notified him of their breakup," adding, "We plan to summon the suspect again for further investigation soon."
