Professor Lee Hyunseop of Dong-A University Awarded the ‘Seokhyun Academic Award’ by the Korean Tribology Society

Professor Lee Hyun-seop of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Dong-A University received the ‘Seokhyeon Academic Award,’ a special prize from the Korean Tribology Society.

The Korean Tribology Society is an academic society that researches friction, wear, lubrication, and surface engineering related to improving efficiency, durability, and reliability in all engineering fields leading advanced technology. It started as the Lubrication Society in 1984 and celebrated its 39th anniversary this year.

The award ceremony was held recently at the ‘74th Autumn Academic Conference of the Korean Tribology Society’ in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk.

Since joining Dong-A University in 2021, Professor Lee has been conducting research in semiconductor chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) and tribology, and has contributed to the development of the society as the editor-in-chief of the Korean Tribology Society Journal.

He is also actively engaged in academic activities in related fields as the vice president of the Production and Design Engineering Division of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers and the vice president of the Precision Machining Division of the Korean Society for Precision Engineering.

In addition, he has received the 2019 Excellent Science and Technology Paper Award from the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies, the 2017 Academic Award from the Korean Tribology Society, and the 2011 Baekam Paper Award from the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Professor Lee Hyun-seop said, “I will make more diverse efforts in the future for the advancement of the tribology field and the development of the society.”
