By field of application, for public schools (including separate recruitment for persons with disabilities), 775 applicants applied for 68 positions, recording an average competition rate of 11.4 to 1 per subject, slightly down from the previous year (11.73 to 1). In the case of public schools, compared to the previous year, both the number of planned recruits (77 → 68) and applicants (903 → 775) decreased, but the decrease in applicants was relatively larger than the decrease in planned recruits, resulting in a slight decline in the competition rate.

For private schools, both the number of planned recruits (117 → 59) and applicants (901 → 552) decreased compared to the previous year, but since the decrease in planned recruits was larger than the decrease in applicants, the competition rate increased.

The first round of the recruitment exam will be held nationwide on November 25, and the results of the first round will be announced on December 28 on the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education website.

The second round, conducted for those who pass the first round, will include a practical skills evaluation on January 17, 2024, a teaching demonstration on January 23, and an in-depth interview on teaching aptitude on January 24. The final successful candidates will be announced on February 8, 2024.
