Jindo-gun Successfully Hosts Korea's Excellent Jindo Dog Selection Contest

From Grand Prize to Bronze Prize, 37 Winners Selected... Total Prize Money of 36 Million Won Awarded

The 27th Korea Excellent Jindo Dog Selection Contest was successfully concluded in Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do.

According to the county on the 25th, the Excellent Jindo Dog Selection Contest was organized as a festival for Jindo dog owners nationwide to promote the protection, breeding, and excellence of the Jindo dog, a natural monument, and to enhance its dignity as the national dog.

Hosted and organized by Jindo-gun, this contest took place at the Jindo Dog Theme Park, where 247 outstanding Jindo dogs from across the country competed fiercely.

The grand prize, the Jindo-gun Governor’s Award, was awarded to adult dogs within the county: △Gang Heewon’s entry ‘Okjugang’ △Kim Younghwan’s entry ‘Baekgang’, and adult dogs from outside the county: △Lee Yongho’s entry ‘Geumboki’ △Shim Samyong’s entry ‘Manho’, each receiving a prize of 3 million won.

The Excellence Award, the Chairman of Jindo-gun Council’s Award, was given to adult dogs within the county: △Oh Soonchae’s entry ‘Haeri’ △Kim Shindeok’s entry ‘Jindol’, and adult dogs from outside the county: △Kang Seoksu’s entry ‘Hyeongwang’ △Yoo Seunghyun’s entry ‘Muse’.

This Excellent Jindo Dog Selection Contest, along with pre-event performances, Dog sports, and various side events, provided entertainment and attractions to Jindo dog owners nationwide who visited the venue, receiving great acclaim.

A Jindo-gun Jindo Dog Livestock Department official said, “We hope that the dignity and excellence of the Jindo dog will be widely recognized through the Korea Excellent Jindo Dog Selection Contest,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to ensure the welfare, protection, and breeding of the Jindo dog so that it can establish itself as a world-renowned dog.”

Meanwhile, Jindo-gun is making efforts for the welfare of the Jindo dog through systematic pedigree management and the hiring of specialized veterinarians at the Jindo Dog Medical Center.
