Donation to Vulnerable Groups in the Community and Support for Social Welfare Workers with Coffee Truck
Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Ilhyung Lee) announced on the 23rd that Sampyo Group (Chairman Dowon Jeong) donated sponsorship funds (goods) worth a total of 6 million KRW as part of its social contribution activities.
The donation ceremony took place in the mayor’s reception room with the attendance of Ilhyung Lee, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, Yongjae Yoo, Head of Social Contribution Team at Sampyo Industry, and Manager Dohee Kim from Sampyo Group.
Sampyo Group donated a total of 3 million KRW, providing 500,000 KRW per household to support the living expenses of six vulnerable youth and young adult households in Dongdaemun-gu. Additionally, through the ‘SPoon UP! Project,’ from the 24th to the 27th, coffee trucks will be provided to five social welfare facilities (Dongdaemun Family Center, Dongdaemun Comprehensive Welfare Center for the Disabled, Jangan Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Dongdaemun Senior Welfare Center, Dongmun Welfare Center for the Disabled). ‘SPoon UP!’ is a social contribution project that supports catering services for social welfare facilities that require social attention and encouragement.
Yongjae Yoo, Head of Social Contribution Team at Sampyo Industry, stated, “We planned the ‘SPoon UP!’ project with the heart of supporting social welfare workers who dedicate themselves to creating a better local community,” and added, “We will continue various activities to support vulnerable groups and social welfare workers.”
Ilhyung Lee, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, expressed, “We thank Sampyo Group for practicing sharing for neighbors in need through corporate social contribution activities,” and said, “We will ensure that the message of hope delivered by Sampyo Group reaches the youth and young adults facing difficulties in a timely manner.”
Meanwhile, Dongdaemun-gu, which declared itself a ‘2050 Carbon Neutral City’ in February this year, and Sampyo Group, practicing ESG management, are continuing efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by using reusable magnetic panels and electronic banners to reduce the use of disposable products at this donation ceremony.
