To promote the reduction of plastic consumption, Lee Sang-geun, Governor of Goseong County, Gyeongnam, participated in the ‘Bye-Bye Plastic Challenge’ on the 24th.
Lee Sang-geun, the governor of Goseong County, Gyeongnam, participated in the ByeBye Plastic Challenge.
The ‘Bye-Bye Plastic Challenge’ is a nationwide campaign to pledge reducing unnecessary plastic use and practicing responsible consumption in daily life. It started in August by Han Hwa-jin, Minister of Environment, and is conducted in a relay format with photos showing a hand-waving gesture symbolizing ‘Bye’.
Governor Lee, who was nominated by Kim Byung-kyu, Deputy Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do for Economic Affairs, said, “For the Earth we live on and will live on, I ask for the interest and participation of all residents in reducing plastic use in daily life.” He added, “The administration will also actively work to create a clean Goseong without plastic.”
Governor Lee Sang-geun nominated Choi Eul-seok, Chairman of the Goseong County Council, as the next participant in the challenge.
