Mirae Asset Generation Change... Founding Generation Chairman Choi Hyun-man and Others Step Down

Full-Scale Launch of the 2nd Phase Professional Management System

Park Hyun-joo, Chairman of Mirae Asset Group, and Choi Hyun-man, CEO of Mirae Asset Securities and co-founder of the group, will step down from their current positions. Following this, six executives including Kim Mi-seop, President of Mirae Asset Securities, will be promoted to Vice Chairman, marking the start of the '2nd phase professional management system.'


Mirae Asset Group announced on the 23rd that it will officially begin the 2nd phase professional management system through executive promotions. Chairman Choi will step back from frontline duties and take on the role of management advisor.


After founding Mirae Asset with Chairman Park, he started as Managing Director of Mirae Asset Global Investments and then took charge of key affiliates such as Mirae Asset Capital, Mirae Asset Life Insurance, and Mirae Asset Securities, leading the growth of Mirae Asset.

Kim Mi-seop, newly appointed Vice Chairman, previously served as head of Mirae Asset Global Investments’ overseas subsidiaries and as CEO of Mirae Asset Global Investments, and then led the global business of Mirae Asset Securities, achieving notable results.


Vice Chairman Heo Seon-ho oversaw the WM division of Mirae Asset Securities, contributing to the growth of retail businesses such as pensions, overseas stocks, and digital services, while Vice Chairman Lee Jeong-ho, CEO of the Hong Kong branch, manages Mirae Asset Securities’ global business.


Lee Jun-yong, Vice Chairman of Mirae Asset Global Investments, was recognized for his achievements in global investment and ETFs while overseeing the multi-management division, and Swarup Mohanty, CEO of the India branch, was promoted to Vice Chairman to lead the India business.


Kim Jae-sik, Vice Chairman of Mirae Asset Life Insurance, leveraged his extensive asset management experience to secure an absolute advantage in the variable insurance market and contributed to the efficient adoption of the IFRS17 system.


The new registered directors will be finalized after recommendations from the Executive Candidate Recommendation Committee and approval at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders.
