The family of the late Shin Ae-jin (Life Sciences 17), who was a victim of the '1029 Itaewon Disaster' last year, has donated a scholarship fund of 200 million KRW to Korea University in her memory.

Korea University (President Kim Dong-won) held a 'Scholarship Fund Donation Ceremony for the Late Alumna Shin Ae-jin and Her Family' at the President's Office in the Main Building at 3 p.m. on the 19th. Shin Jeong-seop, the donor and father of Shin (Master's in Finance, Graduate School of Business Administration 02), said, "One of my daughter's bucket list items was 'to donate to her alma mater.' We decided to donate a scholarship fund in her name to Korea University, her alma mater, so that her name will be remembered."
Donor Shin added, "We have kept all the condolence money given by my daughter's friends and the money she saved while working without spending a single penny. I hope that my daughter's spirit of dreaming and challenging will be well conveyed to her alma mater and juniors and be used for a good cause."
Kim Dong-won, President of Korea University, expressed his respect and gratitude, saying, "We sincerely thank the late alumna Shin Ae-jin and her parents for their noble intentions. All members of Korea University will cherish this scholarship fund so that Shin’s precious spirit will be remembered forever."
The scholarship fund is scheduled to be given to juniors in the Department of Life Sciences, where Shin was enrolled, and the MCC academic society of the Business School.
