Samyang Round Square Hosts the 1st Wonju Youth Festival 'WonTouch Festival'

Held under the theme "The time when Wonju youth connect, WonTouch," this festival is designed to foster communication, empathy, and participation among Wonju youth. Various events such as the festival opening ceremony, ramen cooking contest, blind games, youth pojangmacha (outdoor food stalls), youth policy presentation contest, public institution employment consulting, and celebratory performances will be held.

The WonTouch Festival consists of Samyang Arena, Youth Arena, Youth Salon, Busking Zone, and Flea Market. The spaces are planned with Samyang Round Square's orange color and Wonju City's purple color, and a picnic zone filled with bean bags and mats was created to evoke the feeling of an outdoor pop-up store.

At Samyang Arena, the first youth festival in Wonju and the 60th anniversary of the birth of Samyang Ramen, Korea's first ramen, will be commemorated with a ramen cooking contest. Eight participants who passed the preliminary round will compete with free-style dishes using Samyang Foods' ramen. Additionally, a 100% winning roulette prize event open to everyone, a blind game where participants taste and guess 3 to 4 types of Buldak Bokkeum Myun, and various product tastings will be held.

To ensure Wonju youth fully enjoy the festival, Samyang Pojangmacha, designed with a pojangmacha concept, will be open. Using various objects such as round tables, drums, neon lights, and DJ boxes, the pojangmacha vibe is created. Various side dishes including fried rice with Buldak sauce, fish cake soup, chicken skewers, as well as Samyang Ramen and Buldak Bokkeum Myun that can be cooked and eaten on-site are available.

The Youth Arena will be set up with youth counseling booths for Wonju youth, employment consulting for public institutions in the Innovation City, and a policy tree booth. The youth counseling booth provides consultations on overall youth-related policies including employment, start-ups, education, housing, finance, welfare, and culture. In addition, various experiential events such as basil oil making, candle making, and a receipt camera photo zone will be held. The flea market, mainly operated by young small business owners, various busking zones, and celebratory performances by singer Kim Nayoung and the Haevichi Band will add to the excitement.

A representative of Samyang Round Square said, “As a member of the local community, we are very pleased to be able to participate in the WonTouch Festival where Wonju youth can fully enjoy and heal,” and added, “We hope that various youth gather in one place to communicate and have a joyful time experiencing the diverse brands and products of Samyang Foods in this harmonious event.”
