Samsung Electronics Launches New Kimchi Refrigerator with Enhanced Custom Storage Features

Customized Fermentation Room Support 'Bespoke Kimchi Plus'

Samsung Electronics will launch a new kimchi refrigerator model, the 'Bespoke Kimchi Plus,' with enhanced customized storage features on the 20th.

The Bespoke Kimchi Plus maintains the crisp taste of kimchi and the freshness of ingredients for a long time through ultra-fine temperature control technology with a temperature deviation within 0.3 degrees and metal cooling technology. It functions as a versatile refrigerator for all seasons by incorporating 23 customized storage modes that professionally store not only various types of kimchi but also difficult-to-store ingredients such as fruits, grains, and wine.

There is also a 'Customized Ripening Room' function that individually controls the internal temperature of the upper storage box when storing small portions of kimchi or small amounts of ingredients. The Customized Ripening Room applies an insulation structure that minimizes the rise in surrounding temperature, allowing the ripening room's internal temperature to be set higher than the outside. It supports a total of five modes, including medium and full ripening of kimchi and meat thawing.

The lower variable temperature compartment of the Bespoke Kimchi Plus features a 'Multi Tray' that makes it easy to store wine, ready meals, and beverages. The upper door includes the 'Bespoke Inside' solution, which has a 'Grain Dispenser' that separates and stores various types of grains and dispenses only the needed amount by pressing a button.

The new product has an energy efficiency rating of Grade 1. This is thanks to the application of high-efficiency technology to the core component, the digital inverter compressor, and improved insulation performance following the strengthened energy regulations for kimchi refrigerators in May. There are a total of 43 Grade 1 models, including 12 four-door models and 7 three-door models. The maximum capacity 586-liter model also includes a 'high-efficiency energy-saving' model that uses about 10% less energy than the Grade 1 minimum standard.

The Bespoke Kimchi Plus four-door models come with a total of 19 types of panels as standard. It is also possible to order from 360 types of 'Prism Color' panels. The retail price ranges from 2,450,000 to 5,999,000 KRW for the freestanding type (487, 490, 586 liters) and from 2,399,000 to 5,199,000 KRW for the Kitchen Fit type (418, 420 liters), depending on features and door panel specifications. The three-door models are priced between 1,899,000 and 3,249,000 KRW.
