Review of Taxi Fare and Rate Adjustment Proposal in Gurye-gun

Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it held the "2023 2nd Gurye-gun Price Countermeasure Committee" meeting at the county office situation room on October 17.

At the meeting, heads of price-related organizations and social groups, presidents of individual service associations by sector, and managers in charge of local public utility charges attended to hold a resolution meeting to eradicate festival overcharging and reviewed the taxi fare and rate adjustment plan for Gurye-gun.

In particular, the committee members agreed on the necessity to eradicate overcharging during the festival period and appealed for the active participation of all residents.

Additionally, after in-depth discussions on the proposal to increase taxi fares and rates, the original plan was approved. This decision considered the rise in oil prices and labor costs, as well as the worsening business conditions of the taxi industry due to the continuous decrease in passengers.

County Governor Kim Soon-ho said, "In this era of high interest rates and high oil prices, we have inevitably raised taxi fares to the minimum necessary level." He added, "We will do our best to manage prices through continuous communication and consultation with individual service workers and provide the best service during the festival period."

Meanwhile, Gurye-gun is continuously conducting crackdowns on unfair trade practices such as origin labeling and price tagging.

Also, two price monitoring agents each month grasp the on-site price trends to manage price stability regularly. Along with this, support projects for small business owners are being promoted, including improving the management environment of aging stores, interest subsidy and card fee support for small business owners, and support for good price businesses.
