Kakao Games announced on the 18th that it has donated 30 million KRW collected together with users of ‘Kakao Battleground’ to Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea in celebration of Armed Forces Day in October, to support psychological treatment for military personnel.
The donation ceremony took place on the 17th at the Gyeonggi Community Chest office located in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, attended by Kakao Games Vice President Lim Ji-hyun, Gyeonggi Community Chest Director Kim Hyo-jin, and Salvation Army Communications Director Park Jong-hwan, among other officials.
To mark Armed Forces Day, Kakao Games held the ‘Kakao Battleground Donation Ground Event’ with users in its PC online game ‘Kakao Battleground.’ After the accumulated donations reached the target amount of 15 million KRW, the company matched the same amount, raising a total of 30 million KRW. The donation was delivered to the Gyeonggi Community Chest and will be used to provide psychological treatment and emotional support for soldiers experiencing psychological difficulties during their military service.
A Kakao Games official said, “We sincerely thank the users who actively participated in the donation event for military personnel dedicated to national security. We plan to continue social contribution campaigns that allow easy and enjoyable participation in donations while playing games.”
Meanwhile, Kakao Games continues to carry out social contribution activities with game users. Donation events held within the games it services, such as the ‘Kakao Battleground Competition Donation Challenge,’ ‘Moonlight Sculptor Heating Cost Donation Campaign,’ and ‘Friends Popcorn Heart Collection for Sharing Love,’ have supported vulnerable groups with heating and cooling costs, contributed to Arctic biodiversity conservation projects, and practiced donations where help is needed.
