NearsLab Unveils Self-Developed 'Short-Range Reconnaissance Autonomous Flight Drone'

Invited by Gukgiyeon
Unveiled at ADEX 2023

Autonomous flight drone solution startup NeursLab announced on the 18th that it showcased its self-developed small autonomous flight drone for short-range reconnaissance at the 'Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Industry Exhibition 2023' (ADEX 2023).

NeursLab explained that the short-range reconnaissance drone introduced this time is small in size but has excellent short-range reconnaissance capabilities. Equipped with an optical digital camera (EO), infrared camera (IR), and laser rangefinder (LRF), it can be deployed in various operations. For example, it can be used for guarding key facilities, searching for missing persons, and responding to fires.

In addition, NeursLab has advanced its autonomous flight solution, previously used for infrastructure safety inspections, for military operations. This solution also features swarm flight capabilities that can simultaneously control up to five autonomous flight drones. While existing swarm flights required inputting individual flight paths for each drone, NeursLab's short-range reconnaissance drones autonomously fly individually, collect information, and aggregate it, making them more useful for short-range reconnaissance.

NeursLab's participation in ADEX 2023 was made possible by an invitation from the Agency for Defense Development (ADD). Taking this opportunity at ADEX 2023, NeursLab plans to seek collaboration opportunities with domestic and international defense companies and embark on full-scale challenges in the defense industry.

Choi Jae-hyuk, CEO of NeursLab, said, "At a time when unmanned forces are becoming increasingly important, NeursLab's short-range reconnaissance drones can contribute to strengthening national defense capabilities," adding, "It is a meaningful challenge in that it demonstrated the possibility of conducting operations using small drones in increasingly complex battlefield environments."
