Gwanak S Valley Startup Festival Held

Gwanak-gu, the mecca of venture startups (District Mayor Park Jun-hee), will hold the '2023 Gwanak S-Valley Startup Festival' at the Gwanak-gu Office from October 27 to 28.

Now in its fourth year, the '2023 Gwanak S-Valley Startup Festival' will be held under the theme 'SHOW ME YOUR INNOVATION.' Various related organizations of Gwanak S-Valley, including the Seoul Startup Center Gwanak and Seoul National University, will participate together with the Seoul Business Agency (SBA).

The district plans to run customized programs with detailed daily themes to make the festival enjoyable not only for startup stakeholders but also for all residents, encouraging broad community participation.

On October 27, under the theme of 'Global Market Entry Strategies,' programs mainly targeting startup stakeholders will be held, including ▲ IR Startup Competition (Gwanak S-Valley Pitching) ▲ lectures and talk shows by senior entrepreneurs ▲ startup idea contest ▲ and startup counseling center.

The IR Startup Competition, hosted by the Seoul Business Agency (SBA), aims to discover capable companies and connect them with investors. Among the eight participating startups, those selected through judging will receive up to 30 million KRW in commercialization funds.

In the lectures and talk shows by senior entrepreneurs, Kim Min-cheol, CEO of Yanadoo, will share vivid experiences of failure, challenges, and success in the startup field with junior entrepreneurs.

The Startup Idea Contest is a resident participation program where participants present their startup ideas on-site and receive immediate evaluation. This will be followed by training to improve business plan writing skills for entrepreneurs.

At the Startup Counseling Center, participants can have one-on-one consultations with experts in investment, marketing, and development.

On October 28, special lectures and programs for general residents will be held. These include ▲ a 'Smart Technology Lecture' that anyone can easily learn in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, along with ▲ various AI-related experiential events.

The Smart Technology Lectures will feature Dr. Jang Dong-seon from the 'Curious Brain Research Institute' and CEO Eom Yoon-seol of 'Arobot,' delivering engaging talks on topics such as 'How AI is Changing the World' and 'Robots Also Come from Humans.'

AI-related experiential events include ▲ the '2nd Robot Soccer Competition' nurturing future youth technology talents, as well as ▲ 3D pen experiences, drone experiences, and AI-based art, video, and animation production experience booths offering diverse AI hands-on activities.

Additionally, magic shows, busking performances, and other celebratory events will continue to add enjoyment to the festival.

Meanwhile, pre-registration for the senior entrepreneur lectures and talk shows by the Yanadoo CEO and the Smart Technology Lectures is available on a first-come, first-served basis via the QR code on the promotional poster.
