GS25, Industry's First 'Can Cake' to Eat on the Go Introduced

Sequential Release Starting from the 19th

Convenience store GS25 announced on the 17th that it will sequentially launch two types of canned cakes, 'Billy Angel Honey Milk Cake' and 'Billy Angel Dark Choco Cake,' starting from the 19th, marking the first in the industry.

Canned cakes are cakes contained in cans, mainly sold at famous handmade cake specialty stores. They are easy to enjoy and portable, making them popular among consumers in their 20s and 30s recently.

The canned cakes released by GS25 come in transparent 330ml beverage cans, allowing customers to see the contents, and feature aluminum lids that can be opened to eat with a spoon. The Billy Angel Honey Milk Cake combines cake sheets with milk cream, honey, and crumble toppings, while the Billy Angel Dark Choco Cake is made with chocolate cake sheets topped with dark chocolate cream and chocolate toppings.

GS25 expects the canned cakes to be used for various birthday parties and corporate events, and is in additional discussions with manufacturers to enable bulk orders through advance reservations. A GS25 representative said, "Looking at the product alone, you wouldn't know whether it was purchased at a convenience store or a cake specialty shop, showing that GS25's dessert quality has greatly improved," adding, "We will continue to proactively develop differentiated products by responding ahead of segmented consumer demands."
