Ulsan City’s Ulju County will hold a gratitude event from the 16th to the 31st to celebrate surpassing 140 million KRW in hometown love donations.
Since the implementation of the hometown love donation system this year, Ulju County has raised 140 million KRW as of the 13th, and to commemorate this, it has prepared promotional activities and a gratitude event.
On the 16th, Lee Soon-geol, Ulju County Governor, Kim Seok-myeong, Deputy Governor, and about 10 senior officials expressed their gratitude for participation in the hometown love donation at the electronic display board at the county office entrance and conducted promotional activities targeting Ulju residents.
Additionally, a gratitude event will be held by giving mobile coffee coupons worth 10,000 KRW to 100 people through an SNS subscription event.
Participants can subscribe to one of Ulju County’s official SNS channels (blog, Facebook, Instagram), capture the promotional material, register it on a Google Form, and enter their information to be entered into a draw for coffee coupons.
The draw results will be announced on November 6 on the Ulju County website and notified individually. Detailed information can be found on the Ulju County website. The county also operates an online “Donor Hall of Fame” for hometown love donors. Donors who contribute 1 million KRW or more have their names, affiliations, and donation dates posted to express gratitude.
Currently, a total of 30 donors, including representatives of organizations and companies, have been listed in the Donor Hall of Fame.
Lee Soon-geol, Ulju County Governor, said, “We thank everyone who has sent love, support, and encouragement to Ulju County through the hometown love donation system,” adding, “We will strive even harder for the development of Ulju County to repay the donors’ intentions.”
The hometown love donation system, implemented for the first time this year, was promoted to expand local finances and promote national balanced development. Donors can contribute up to 5 million KRW to local governments other than their current residence, and can receive local specialties worth up to 30% of the donation amount. Donations up to 100,000 KRW are fully tax-deductible, and amounts exceeding that receive a 16.5% tax credit.
Participation is possible through the internet portal “Hometown Love e-Eum” or face-to-face donations at NH Nonghyup Bank. The donations are used to improve residents’ welfare, including support for vulnerable groups and youth, promotion of culture, arts, and health, and revitalization of local communities.
