With the arrival of the perfect season for walking, walking events will be held across the country on the 21st.
The 11th Namsan Health Walking Competition, hosted by the news channel YTN, will take place around Namsan from 12 PM to 5 PM on the 21st. The walking course starts at Baekbeom Square in Namsan Park and ends at Seoul Tower Plaza (North Circular Road, 6 km, approximately 120 minutes on foot). The detailed route includes Baekbeom Square, Education and Research Information Center, Samsuni Staircase, Waryongmyo Shrine, Seokhojeong Pavilion, South Entrance Road, and Seoul Tower Plaza. Various side events are arranged at each section.
At Baekbeom Square, participants can enjoy a departure commemorative photo zone and experience a mini Olympic triathlon set. The official event will feature busking performances and health recreation activities. Along the Namsan Dulle-gil trail, photo zones are set up, and at the destination, Seoul Tower Plaza, there will be an art park, prize draws, eco-friendly mats, sticker tattoos, and a completion commemorative photo zone. There is no participation fee. This walking event is not a competition; running on the course may endanger other participants' safety. Previously, the organizer held the 10th Namsan Family Walking Competition at the same location in April.

Guro-gu will hold the 8th Premium Guro Olle-gil Walking Event. The Premium Guro Olle-gil is a 28.5 km walking trail connecting forests, streams, and urban areas. It consists of four forest-type courses (Course 1: Gaenam Neighborhood Park, Course 2: Maebongsan to Waryongsan, Course 3: Cheonwangsan, Course 4: Gaewoongsan), three stream-type courses (Anyangcheon, Dorimcheon, Mokgamcheon), and two urban-type courses (Jungang-ro, Digital-ro). This year’s walking section is Forest-type Course 2. The 4.2 km route starts at Gaebong Middle School, passes through Jatjeol Park, Maebongsan, Waryongsan, and ends at Onsu Sports Park, taking about 2 hours. Anyone can participate, and no prior registration is required; just visit Gaebong Middle School at 7:30 AM on the event day.
Suncheon City will hold a ‘Barefoot Walking on the National Garden Earthing Trail (3 km)’ event with 200 citizens on the 21st at the Lawn Square of Hosujeongwon to commemorate the 2023 Suncheon Beauty Festa Green Runway Show. All participants will undergo pre-event health checks (InBody, blood pressure, depression, etc.), attend a barefoot walking special lecture, warm-up exercises, walk the 3 km National Garden Earthing Trail barefoot, and watch the Green Runway Show in sequence. Citizens wishing to participate in the Suncheonman National Garden barefoot walk can apply via Naver Form through Suncheon City’s official blog, band, and website by the 19th; registration is limited to the first 200 applicants.
The Suncheon Earthing Trail consists of 8 courses (12.5 km) across three zones: Suncheonman Wetland, Suncheonman National Garden, and Ocheon Green Plaza. Notably, the National Garden Earthing Trail is designed to allow participants to experience various environments by walking on loess soil paths centered around forests, streams, and gardens, enabling them to fully appreciate the nature of Ecological Capital First-Class Suncheon.

An official from the city said, "To promote a healthy lifestyle for citizens, we will continuously spread the correct walking culture and especially expand barefoot walking programs centered on the Suncheon Earthing Trail to enhance citizens’ health."
Meanwhile, through the 2023 Suncheonman International Garden Expo, the city has established a total of 9 earthing trail courses within the expo area. The National Garden Earthing Trail includes 6 courses totaling 4.8 km around the West and East Gates (Wetland, Arboretum Path, Dream Path, Weeping Plum Path, Main Viewing Path, Stream Path), and the Suncheonman Earthing Trail consists of 3 courses totaling 4.5 km from Suncheonman Wetland to Jangsan Village in Byeollyang-myeon (Ramsar Path, World Heritage Path, Salt Marsh Path).
In Pohang, Gyeongbuk Province, the ‘2023 Homibando Coastal Trail Walking Festival’ will be held. The walking route is approximately 6.1 km, starting at Cheongnim Sports Ground at 9 AM, passing Dogu Beach, and ending at Yeonorang Seonyeo Theme Park. Besides the opening ceremony celebration performances by ‘Haha’ and ‘Seollege’ at Cheongnim Sports Ground, various experiential events such as making pinwheels, wooden keychains, grip-toks, Jibbitz charms, four-cut photos at Yeonorang Seonyeo Theme Park, and mini horse experiences will be held. Anyone can participate without prior registration.
Additionally, the 2023 Andong Tourism Lakeside Stroll Walking Event will take place at the special stage of Andong City Museum and the Andong Lakeside Stroll area. The Yeoncheon County Citizens’ Health Walk will start from the lawn square at the entrance of Jeongok-ri Relics, proceed through Hantan River Recreation Area, Jeongok Prehistoric Museum, and Paleolithic Trail, then circle the trail inside the Prehistoric Management Office, covering a total of 5 km.
