Chuncheon District Court Sentences to 6 Months Imprisonment
"Multiple Violent Offenses... Imprisonment Inevitable"
A man in his 50s who urinated while intoxicated in a restaurant with employees and customers was sentenced to imprisonment.
On the 14th, Judge Song Jong-seon of the Chuncheon District Court Criminal Division 1 announced that A (56), who was indicted on charges of public obscenity and obstruction of business, was sentenced to 6 months in prison. He was also ordered to complete 40 hours of a sexual violence treatment program and was banned from employment at child and youth-related institutions for 3 years.
A was tried for lowering his pants zipper and urinating into a pot on a table in a restaurant in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, in May, in the presence of employees and customers. At the time, he was also accused of causing a disturbance for 40 minutes by shouting loudly while intoxicated and verbally abusing employees who tried to stop him.
Judge Song explained the sentencing reason, saying, "Considering that A has multiple prior convictions related to violence, the seriousness of the crime, and that he has not been forgiven by the victims, a prison sentence is inevitable."
