On the 12th, Jin Gyo-hoon, the Mayor of Gangseo District, Seoul, received a report on the current status of district administration on his first day in office and immediately headed to the field to address citizens' livelihoods.

This reflects his commitment to actively implement the campaign promise made to residents during the by-election period of being a "Safe, Secure, and Livelihood-Focused Mayor" from the very first day of his term. The first place Mayor Jin visited was the site of the Hwagog 2-dong Urban Public Housing Complex Project candidate area. Since his candidacy, Mayor Jin has shown a strong determination to vigorously promote redevelopment and reconstruction in the old downtown area. He received a progress report on the project and personally inspected the poor residential environment in Hwagog-dong.

He also met with the redevelopment volunteer groups from Hwagog 2, 4, and 8-dong to attentively listen to voices from the field and repeatedly promised to expedite redevelopment and reconstruction in the old downtown area.

Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon stated, “As the district mayor, I will take responsibility and push forward all possible initiatives within the district office as quickly as possible, sparing no administrative support. The Hwagog 2-dong Urban Public Housing Complex Project will be a model project and a significant starting point to transform Hwagog-dong.”

Following this, Mayor Jin visited the Gangseo Integrated Control Center, which is responsible for residents' safety, to personally inspect the operation status of local closed-circuit televisions (CCTV).

He visited the comprehensive situation room to review the performance of the intelligent (AI) selective surveillance system and carefully checked whether CCTV cameras were installed in appropriate locations and the number of installations, ensuring there were no deficiencies in the operation of the control center closely linked to residents' safety.

Mayor Jin said, “There are limits to monitoring everything visually, so AI-enabled CCTV must be installed in the right places to reduce crime rates and respond accurately and swiftly to various emergencies such as incidents and accidents.”

He added, “In cases where old equipment makes it difficult to see people clearly or identify them at night, we will continuously install high-performance CCTV in crime-vulnerable areas based on precise data analysis to create a safe and secure Gangseo district free from crime.”

In the afternoon, Mayor Jin visited Hwagog Bon-dong Market to listen to merchants' difficulties and then proceeded to inspect the Gangseo Safety Education Center and the flood control facility, Gaehwa Yukgapmun.

Before starting his first day at work that morning, Mayor Jin paid respects at the Seoul National Cemetery and wrote in the guestbook, “I will dedicate myself to the future and development of a new Gangseo. I will always serve the residents.”
