The National Gwangju Science Museum will celebrate its 10th anniversary on the 15th with an interactive commemorative ceremony and science culture events.
Gwangju Science Museum is one of the five national science museums across the country and first opened its doors in 2013. It offers unique exhibitions centered on science, encompassing light, sound, space, and art, and sets the standard for out-of-school science education.
On the 15th, a commemorative ceremony will be held on the piloti stage at the main entrance of the Gwangju Science Museum to mark its 10th anniversary. The main agenda includes awarding distinguished contributors, screening the 10th anniversary commemorative video, and a proclamation ceremony.
During the event, key guests from the Ministry of Science and ICT, Gwangju Metropolitan City, Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education, Buk-gu Office, and visitors will participate in an event symbolizing the significance of the representative symbol, Space Odyssey.
Until the 30th, various events are prepared under the theme of the autumn science special week, "Filling the 10th Autumn with Science."
Starting with the Art Science Festival (October 6th to October 15th), the schedule includes ▲ Autumn Concert (14th) ▲ Gwangju Science Invention Festival (14th to 15th) ▲ Artificial Intelligence Science Golden Bell (28th).
Deputy Director Jeon Tae-ho said, "We thank everyone who has loved the science museum over the past 10 years as we celebrate the 10th anniversary."
He added, "We will continue to develop and innovate tirelessly, becoming the central institution of science culture in the Honam region, leading the spread of science culture, and a science museum that spends a lifetime with the people."
