"The Era of Feedback Absence"... Embrain Releases 2024 Trend Monitor

A Society Without Friends, Colleagues, or Elders
"Breeding a Massive 'Feedback' Deficiency"

Market research specialist Macromill Embrain announced on the 12th that it has published the '2024 Trend Monitor' and selected 'The Era of Feedback Deficiency' as the key keyword for changes in Korean social trends next year.

In this book, the authors analyzed that the absence of 'adults' who can show feedback through actions rather than words, 'friends' who can offer advice by your side, and 'colleagues' who make work meaningful is once again excluding 'others' perspectives' from 'me,' resulting in isolated 'individuals.'

They also analyze the possibility that the younger generation, having never seen the true image of an adult, fears becoming one and thus falls into 'delayed adulthood' (a phenomenon where social responsibilities as an adult are postponed), failing to recognize themselves as adults. As more people focus on a small number of relationships, the number of '필·찾 friends'?friends sought only when necessary?is expected to increase.

The deficiency in feedback is paradoxically expected to greatly increase the importance of feedback in the workplace, predicting a growing need for organizational cultures that facilitate smooth feedback exchanges and a rising demand for 'inclusiveness' within workplaces.

The 2024 Trend Monitor analyzed the daily lives and consumption activities of the general public in four thematic areas: society, work, daily life, and culture. Through the theme-specific 'Trend Sharp and Far View,' various overseas cases and issues were examined from a broader perspective. Additionally, using 'Embrain Panel Big Data,' it examined consumption patterns through analyses of usage of the closed social networking service (SNS) app 'Bondi,' app usage by income level, online video service (OTT) usage rates, and visit rates to major commercial districts in Seoul.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Trend Monitor is the fifteenth book that examines changes in public thoughts and lives through surveys and analyses conducted on more than 1.7 million consumer panels owned by Macromill Embrain.
