The next day, the man went back to the convenience store and used his $77 winnings to buy 7 more lottery tickets. Among these, one ticket won the second prize of $77,777 (about 105 million KRW), bringing him great joy.

He told the Missouri Lottery, "I thought the numbers were spreading out," and added, "So I took off my glasses and rubbed my eyes with my hands," expressing his surprise.

The top prize for the "TRIPLE RED 777" issued by the Missouri Lottery is $777,777 (about 1.05 billion KRW). Two first-place winners receive $777,777 each, five second-place winners receive $77,777 each, and sixteen third-place winners receive $7,777 each. Additionally, the lottery office stated that over 1.4 million people will share a total prize of $10 million, with amounts ranging from $10 to $777.

Meanwhile, the number 7 is considered a lucky number across both Eastern and Western cultures. In particular, the number 7 carries Christian connotations, as it references the biblical creation story where God created the world in 7 days, making it especially regarded as a lucky number in Western countries like the United States. However, in China, the number 8 is considered lucky because its pronunciation, "ba," sounds similar to "fa" in "facai" (發財), which means "to make money."
