Mosaemi Small Library with Garden and Parking Opens in Mok 4-dong Idle Green Space, Operating from This Month... Basement 1 to 2nd Floor, Total Area 739.42㎡, Housing 7,600 Books and 30 Reading Seats... Garden and Santorini-Inspired Exterior Design to Become a Regional Cultural Landmark

Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that it has established the Mosaemi Small Library, featuring a garden, in Mok 4-dong and will begin full-scale operation starting this month.

The district formulated a plan in 2019 to actively utilize the idle green space in Mok 4-dong, which is densely populated with multi-family and multi-household residences and relatively lacks cultural and parking spaces, by creating a combined small library and parking lot, and has been promoting the construction of a new building.

The newly opened Mosaemi Small Library, with a total floor area of 739.42㎡ spanning from the basement level 1 to the 2nd floor above ground, is the 21st district-run library, housing over 7,600 books and 30 reading seats. The interior consists of a children's materials room (1st floor) and a general materials room (2nd floor), while the underground parking lot operates as a resident-priority parking area.

Above all, Mosaemi Small Library, a complex facility combined with a garden green space, features an exterior design reminiscent of Santorini, Greece, and is expected to become a landmark for reading and relaxation befitting the reputation of Yangcheon as an educational city.

The operating hours of Mosaemi Small Library are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays and public holidays. Anyone in the district can read books on-site, but borrowing requires a Yangcheon-gu public library membership card.

The district operates a total of 21 district-run libraries, including 9 public libraries such as Yangcheon Central Library and 12 small libraries, to provide a complex living cultural space centered around books.
