Police Arrest and Send 20s Suspect to Prosecution for Dozens of Thefts During Holiday Period

A man in his 20s who committed theft at about 30 stores in the Gangbuk area of Seoul during the Chuseok holiday was handed over to the prosecution.

According to the police on the 10th, the Gangbuk Police Station in Seoul sent Mr. A (28), who is suspected of theft under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes, to the prosecution while in custody.

Mr. A is accused of breaking into about 30 vacant stores in Gangbuk-gu, Nowon-gu, and Jungnang-gu in Seoul from the 26th of last month, two days before the Chuseok holiday, and stealing several million won in cash during the holiday period. In addition, Mr. A is also suspected of stealing a motorcycle worth about 5 million won.

The police confirmed CCTV footage and arrested Mr. A at around 6:24 p.m. on the 1st in front of Exit 1 of Seoul Station on Subway Line 4.
