September 9-10, Gustave Seine River Cafe in front of Eiffel Tower, Paris, hosts 'Fly to Busan' event
Experience programs featuring taste, style, alcohol, and main themes reflecting values of Busan, candidate city for Expo 2030
Busan City will co-host the 2030 Busan World Expo bid event, "Fly to Busan," with SK Corporation on the 9th and 10th local time at Gustave, a Seine River caf? in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.
In front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, the 'Fly to Busan' event was held to support the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo.
This event is an official bid support event introducing the charm of Busan and the 2030 Busan World Expo to tourists visiting the Eiffel Tower and Paris residents at the venue.
At the venue, various programs will be held where visitors can experience the taste and style of Busan, the candidate city for the 2030 World Expo, as well as the main and sub-themes and guiding values of the 2030 Busan World Expo.
On the 1st and 2nd floors of the river caf? Gustave, Busan’s representative foods such as fish cake, tteokbokki, hotteok, and camellia tea will be presented to introduce Busan through its flavors.
At the entrance of Gustave, a Bear Balloon artwork by Busan-born artist Lim Ji-bin will be exhibited, and Busan’s representative fusion gugak band "Sangjaru" will perform at the ferry dock in front of Gustave, showcasing Busan’s outstanding cultural arts.
Also, at the ferry dock, a virtual reality experience event will be held where visitors can explore the cityscape of Busan in 2030, the year the World Expo will be held, by riding Urban Air Mobility (UAM), a future transportation mode recently gaining attention.
In the basement level 1 of the river caf? Gustave, works themed on Busan by artist Choi Hye-ji, who will represent Korea at the upcoming "Art Basel" in October, will be exhibited, along with promotional videos for the 2030 Busan World Expo bid.
Visitors will also be given commemorative souvenirs for the 2030 Busan World Expo bid.
On the 9th local time, tourists and Paris residents visiting the Eiffel Tower enjoyed the event at the river caf? and praised the charm of Busan, South Korea, which hopes to host the 2030 World Expo.
It is expected that a total of 1,600 visitors, 800 per day over the two days until the 10th, will attend.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun stated, "Through this 'Fly to Busan' event, we will naturally showcase the taste and style of Busan, the candidate city for the 2030 World Expo, as well as the main and sub-themes and guiding values of the 2030 Busan World Expo to the local Paris audience, thereby fostering a supportive atmosphere among tourists and Paris residents for the bid."
