On the 9th, marking the 577th anniversary of Hangeul Day, the distribution and leisure industries prepared products and services themed around Hangeul.


According to related industries on the 8th, Woongjin Foods released a Hangeul Day edition of its representative barley drink, 'Haneulbori.' This product was designed with the existing brand identity (BI) 'Haneul' characters, adding the consonants 'giyeok' and 'nieun' to evoke 'Hangeulbori.' The Chinese character '茶 (cha)' was also applied in Hangeul. The Haneulbori font is also provided for free.

Domino's Pizza introduced an event engraving the Korean word 'Heunheunhada' on pizza boxes. 'Heunheunhada' is a Korean word meaning 'very happy and satisfied.' The 'Hangeul Snack,' created by founders from India and the United States who expressed the beauty and excellence of Hangeul through snacks, was inspired by the Dangun myth and introduced garlic-flavored and mugwort-flavored products respectively.


In the alcoholic beverage industry, One Spirits Co., Ltd. launched the 'One Soju Original Hangeul Day Limited Edition.' All designs are made entirely in Hangeul. The product name emphasizes tradition by centering on the 'W' of One and utilizing the four trigrams and the Taegeuk pattern from the Korean flag.


Casual footwear brand 'Crocs' held a font contest event. Under the theme of the Korean version of the brand message (Come As You Are), 'Ne Moseup Geudaeroga Joha,' they plan to showcase typographic graphic works and videos completed in collaboration with three famous graphic designers and a master calligrapher on Crocs' official platforms and stores. From the 9th, a Hangeul font contest for the general public will also be held.

Convenience store GS25 will sell products applying the 'Sandoll Yongbieocheonga' font to lunch boxes, rice balls, sandwiches, and Cafe25 this month. The Sandoll Yongbieocheonga font is one of the representative fonts of 'Sandoll Cloud,' a font foundry that restored the Hangeul recorded in Yongbieocheonga, the first Korean literary work written in Hangeul after the creation of Hunminjeongeum.


Gmarket and Auction are holding a 'Hangeul Market' event until the 9th, gathering products and brands with Hangeul names and offering discounts of up to 60%. Featured products include 'Dimchae,' the old word for kimchi, and 'Haechandeul,' meaning a field full of sunlight, as well as Hetbahn, Haitai, Joheun Neukkim, Pulmuone, Ottogi, Binggrae, Clean Country, and Chamzon.


In the leisure industry, travel and leisure platform Yeo-gi Otta is offering its company's second brand font, 'Jalnanche Gothic,' for free. This is a new free font released five years after the 2018 launch of 'Jalnanche.' Like the existing Jalnanche, the consonants 'ㅅ, ㅈ, ㅊ' symbolize a person moving forward at the moment of departure for a trip. The lively atmosphere is maintained so that the excitement of travel can be felt throughout the characters.


Additionally, the children's job experience theme park 'Kidzania Korea' is providing free all-day passes to 77 children with pure Korean Hangeul names at its Seoul and Busan locations. Even if they are not among the first to apply, children with pure Korean Hangeul names can use Kidzania at a 50% discounted price until the 9th.
