Uljin County, Gyeongbuk (Governor Son Byeong-bok) conducted a joint campaign to prevent harmful environments for youth by forming a joint crackdown team with Uljin Police Station and Uljin County Youth Counseling and Welfare Center throughout September, coinciding with the autumn school reopening period.
Uljin-gun conducted a campaign to improve the harmful environment for youth around schools during the autumn semester.
This activity aimed to protect youth in advance from contact with harmful businesses and to raise awareness of youth protection. The campaign focused on areas around schools and densely populated commercial districts by distributing 'Youth Harmful Environment OUT!' leaflets and attaching stickers to businesses that did not display the prohibition sticker against selling alcohol and tobacco to those under 19 years old.
In particular, convenience stores, general restaurants, and karaoke rooms frequently visited by youth around elementary schools were inspected to ensure strict ID verification when selling alcohol and tobacco, and to enforce strict adherence to youth entry time restrictions.
Jang Myeong-ok, Director of the Social Welfare Division, stated, “We will continue to closely cooperate with related organizations to periodically conduct youth protection campaigns to create a healthy environment in the local community.”
