Ulsan Ulju-gun, Policy Idea Contest... Proactive Response to Local Extinction Issue

Ulju-gun, Ulsan City, is conducting a policy idea contest under the theme "Ulju, a Lifetime Place I Want to Live," until the 27th.


This contest was launched to proactively respond to low birth rates, aging population issues, and regional extinction problems, as well as to strengthen local competitiveness.


The contest topics include ▲improvement plans for residential conditions in Ulju-gun ▲policies to address low birth rates and an aging society ▲support projects for the living population, accepting various ideas to prevent population decline and attract new residents.


Any Ulju-gun resident, as well as workers and students living in Ulju-gun, can participate. Winners will receive prizes and certificates: 1,000,000 KRW for the grand prize, 500,000 KRW for excellence, 200,000 KRW for encouragement, and 100,000 KRW for effort awards.

Those wishing to participate can download the submission form from the Ulju-gun website, fill it out, and submit it via email or by visiting or mailing it to the Planning and Budget Office of Ulju-gun Office.


Ulju-gun plans to announce the selection results and hold an award ceremony in November. The final selected ideas will be reflected in policies starting next year according to administrative conditions. Detailed information about the contest can be found on the Ulju-gun website.


Lee Soon-geol, the head of Ulju-gun, said, "In a situation where a population crisis is approaching, active interest from Ulju-gun residents is necessary to create a livable city," and added, "We hope for many participants so that innovative ideas can be proposed."
