Kim Hyun-gi, Chair of Seoul Metropolitan Council, "Expansion of Education for Capacity Building"

Author Han Dong-il's Special Lecture on Unique Study Methods for Seoul Metropolitan Council Employees

Kim Hyun-gi, Chairperson of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, held the second half staff assembly of the Seoul Metropolitan Council on the 4th, attended by about 200 employees.

Following the first half, this staff assembly included awards for outstanding employees and shared the basic education and training plan of the Seoul Metropolitan Council with the staff.

Chairperson Kim Hyun-gi stated, “The three main elements of personnel administration are recruitment, skill development, and morale boosting,” and introduced, “Since the independence of personnel authority in the Seoul Metropolitan Council, we have prepared a basic education and training plan to strengthen the capabilities of the staff.”

He also said, “We plan to operate courses such as new employee training, policy support officer training, and leadership courses by rank, as well as customized training for tasks including council proceedings, policy research, inquiry drafting, and ordinance review,” adding, “We will also prepare short- and long-term overseas training and future talent development programs so that employees can have opportunities for skill advancement.”

Chairperson Kim added, “We have entered the season of fruition,” and urged, “As the regular session starting in November will include administrative audits and the 2024 budget review, I hope the staff will do their best to support and enhance the reputation of the ‘Seoul Metropolitan Council that works well.’”

Vice Chairpersons Nam Chang-jin and Woo Hyung-chan, People Power Party Representative Choi Ho-jung, Operations Committee Chair Park Hwan-hee, and Councilor Seo Ho-yeon also attended the staff assembly to encourage the employees.

Following the staff assembly, a special lecture titled ‘A Special Study Method for Seoul Metropolitan Council Employees’ was given by writer Han Dong-il.
