The festivals in Hongseong, Chungnam, famous for salted shrimp and Gim, have been merged and will be newly held as the 'Gwangcheon Gim and Togul Salted Shrimp Grand Festival' from the 13th to the 15th at the Gwangcheon Traditional Market area in Gwangcheon-eup, Hongseong-gun, Chungnam.

The festival will open with the 10th Hongseong National Housewives Singing Contest this year. The contest will hold preliminaries on the 13th and the final stage on the 15th.
Eligibility to participate is open to any housewife in the Republic of Korea, including migrant women. Applicants can download the application form from the county office's notice board and submit it to the announced email address.
To expand participation opportunities, both online and on-site registrations are accepted. On-site registration will be available at the festival's second stage on the day of the preliminaries, the 13th.
At the final stage, awards including Grand Prize, Gold Prize, Silver Prize, Special Prize, and Popularity Prize will be given to a total of seven participants. The Grand Prize winner will receive a prize of 2 million won, a trophy, and a certificate from the Korea Singers Association.
This year, as the Gwangcheon Gim Festival and Togul Salted Shrimp Festival have been integrated and expanded in scale, the enthusiasm of applicants dreaming of becoming stars through the 10th Hongseong National Housewives Singing Contest is expected to be intense.
