Flitto Participates in Hangul Culture Industry Exhibition... Promoting Competitiveness of Language Data for Learning

Flitto announced on the 4th that it will participate in the '2023 Hangul Cultural Industry Exhibition' hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion.

The Hangul Cultural Industry Exhibition will be held for three days from the 4th under the theme "The Power of Hangul Knocking on the Future!" at the aT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seoul. It is an exhibition that integrates Hangul culture and the Hangul industry. Leading companies in fields such as language artificial intelligence (AI), chatbots, machine translation, education, publishing, and Hangul will offer a variety of programs where visitors can experience "the value of Hangul as a driving force opening a new future amid digital advancement and changes in the AI era."

Flitto plans to showcase its technological capabilities and operational competitiveness related to an integrated platform for language data construction, which is one of the most prominent fields in the era of ultra-large AI. Industry insiders are expected to pay attention to Flitto’s know-how in building various types of data such as text, voice, and images for AI learning, as well as its competitiveness in corpus data construction, having participated for three consecutive years in the National Institute of Korean Language’s "Korean-Foreign Language Parallel Corpus Construction Project."

At the Flitto promotional booth, an experience event for the ‘Flitto Arcade’ service, where approximately 13 million users worldwide participate in various language activities and receive rewards, will be operated. Visitors to the booth can participate in actual language data construction processes such as recording Korean voice and engaging in multi-turn conversations. Since Flitto, which is also part of the ultra-large AI promotion council, provides data construction methods identical to those offered to major domestic IT companies, the company explains that this is a rare opportunity to directly build data necessary for improving the performance of Korean AI services in real-world applications.

At the Flitto booth, visitors can directly see various success cases of the digital multilingual translation service ‘Flitto Place,’ which incorporates generative AI. Examples include convenient and accurate digital multilingual translations implemented in exhibition spaces such as the National Hangeul Museum, large shopping malls like The Hyundai Seoul and Lotte Department Store, and famous restaurants like Geum Dwaeji Sikdang. ‘Flitto Place’ provides the most accurate and natural multilingual translation results in a convenient QR code-based format by combining OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology, neural network-based machine translation (NMT), and generative AI technologies for restaurant menus, exhibition guides, and more. With the recent significant increase in overseas tourists, inquiries from companies and institutions about adopting the service have more than doubled, raising expectations for active business consultations during the exhibition period.

Lee Jung-soo, CEO of Flitto, said, "Our platform enables the construction and refinement of high-quality data desired by clients with almost no restrictions on language, data type, or detailed conditions through continuous advancement." He added, "We will widely promote Flitto’s data construction competitiveness by participating in the Hangul Cultural Industry Exhibition," and "We want to contribute to the development of Korean language-based AI not only through collaboration with overseas big tech companies but also by expanding partnerships with domestic AI companies."
