ANUGA is the world's largest food exhibition held every two years in Cologne, Germany, with about 8,000 companies from over 100 countries participating. This year, with the theme of ‘sustainable growth’ in the food industry, it is expected to provide a comprehensive view of global food trends such as plant-based alternative meats and low-sugar, low-calorie foods.

Dongwon Group will introduce a variety of products ranging from traditional foods to future food under the concept of ‘The Tradition and Future of K-Food.’ Comprehensive food company Dongwon F&B will lead its overseas market expansion with ‘Yangban,’ a Korean home meal replacement (HMR) brand with 37 years of tradition. They will exhibit a total of about 90 products including Korean-style convenient foods such as Yangban porridge, Yangban gimbugak (seaweed crisps), and Tteokbokki Shin, as well as alternative foods like plant-based tuna, dumplings, canned ham, dairy products (processed milk, cheese, etc.), and health functional foods (black ginseng, inner beauty products, etc.).

Dongwon Industries will showcase high-quality and sustainable seafood such as tuna and salmon. In particular, a tasting event will be held for salmon farmed on land by their Norwegian partner ‘Salmon Evolution.’ The land-based salmon farming promoted by Dongwon Industries is a future food industry that can supply sustainable seafood known as blue food, and it is expected to attract significant interest from buyers worldwide.

Dongwon Home Food will target the global market with K-sauces. Having supplied various seasoning products to over 1,000 clients including famous chicken franchises, Dongwon Home Food will present a variety of products such as sauces, seasonings, and powders that make it easy to replicate the taste of K-chicken. Additionally, to target the European market, which is highly interested in health management and vegan culture, low-calorie and vegan sauces will also be exhibited.

A Dongwon Group official said, “We have gathered Dongwon’s food categories that will lead the K-food craze, from traditional Korean-flavored foods to land-based farmed salmon and plant-based alternative foods, all of which are sustainable foods.” He added, “We will continue to develop sustainable foods and actively export them to become a global food company contributing to human health.”
