Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, Creates Barefoot Walking Trail

Barefoot walking trails will be established in 21 urban parks and other locations in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.

Last month, the district completed the construction of a 160-meter barefoot walking path made of loess soil along the walking trail at Pungyeongjeongcheonbyeon-gil Neighborhood Park.

Starting with this, the district plans to invest 200 million KRW within the year to create approximately 4.6 km of 'barefoot trails' in three locations: Ssangam and Yeoksan Neighborhood Parks, and the buffer greenbelt trail in Cheomdan 1-dong.

Facilities such as foot washing stations, route signboards, rest benches, and convenience amenities will be installed, and a pleasant walking environment will be created through loess soil (yellow soil) paving, removal of protruding tree roots, and planting of shade trees and flowers.

Development projects for the remaining sections will also be promoted annually.
