Haitai Confectionery Launches Powdered Rice Oyes 'WithMe'

First Powdered Rice Snack in the Confectionery Industry

Haitai Confectionery announced on the 3rd that it will launch 'Oyes With Me (with 米)', made with powdered rice 'Baromi 2'. Oyes With Me is a premium rice chocolate cake made by mixing domestically produced powdered rice into Oyes, which was previously made entirely with imported wheat flour.

Haitai Confectionery is the first domestic confectionery company to commercialize the powdered rice 'Baromi 2', developed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to promote rice consumption. This is the first attempt for a mass-produced product that requires large-scale production and safe shelf life, with only 250,000 boxes produced as a limited edition.

Unlike regular rice grains, powdered rice Oyes can be made by grinding without soaking in water, making the processing more convenient and economical. It actively utilizes the advantages of powdered rice, which has a moist and soft texture. The slightly coarse texture that occurs when adding rice ingredients to the wheat flour base, which was previously used alone, was resolved through rice processing technology using starch and other methods. The moisture content of Oyes, which is among the highest in domestic snacks, also worked perfectly with powdered rice to maximize its unique moist and soft texture.

Additionally, black sesame, which pairs well with rice, was added to enhance the product's completeness. It was made into a black sesame cake sheet with a rich nutty flavor by kneading it together with powdered rice from the blending process. Cream mixed with black sesame and premium cheese was generously filled between the cake sheets, delivering a rich savory taste and aroma from start to finish. The exterior was coated with thick chocolate to add sweetness, completing a premium cake that fully embodies the dignity of the original.

A Haitai Confectionery official said, "This is a healthy chocolate cake made with fresh ingredients grown on our land," and added, "We plan to develop more diverse products using powdered rice to revitalize domestic rice consumption and coexist with many farmers."
