Police have sparked controversy by responding complacently to a woman trembling in fear due to a man wearing ‘no bottoms’ who was following her, saying, "Sex crimes do not happen on main roads."

According to the broadcast, at 2 a.m. on the 15th, in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, a woman encountered a man exposing his lower body without wearing any bottoms while walking down the street.

The woman avoided looking at the man and passed by as calmly as possible. When she put some distance between them, she called the police. However, the man, who had been walking in the opposite direction, suddenly changed course and began to follow her.

At that time, there were almost no cars or pedestrians on the street, so the woman was engulfed in great fear. Fortunately, there was one passerby nearby who was able to help. This passerby stayed with the woman until the police arrived.

Meanwhile, the man with no bottoms continued to loiter around the woman. Soon, the police arrived and arrested the man on the spot for public indecency.

The passerby who stayed with the woman asked the police, "Please do not let her go alone. Escort her to a safe place," but the police responded with "Of course" on the spot, took a statement, and then let the woman go alone.

Viewers were outraged that a citizen who witnessed public indecency allowed the woman to return home alone in the early morning.

The police reportedly told the woman who reported the incident, "Sex crimes do not happen on main roads."

In response, lawyer Park Ji-hoon pointed out, "The police should not act like this. Sex crimes do not discriminate based on whether it is a main road or not."
