This is a special support fund system operated by the government and local governments during the holidays. Recipients include basic livelihood security recipients, near-poverty class households, and national veterans.

Information about holiday support funds can be found on the Government24 website. In Seoul, Gangnam-gu provides 60,000 KRW per household to livelihood and medical benefit recipients, and 50,000 KRW per household to housing and education benefit recipients and near-poverty class. Dongjak-gu supports national veterans residing in Dongjak-gu with 20,000 KRW each for Lunar New Year, Veterans Month, and Chuseok.

Gangdong-gu also supports elderly people using senior centers with consolation money or goods worth 100,000 KRW. Gangbuk-gu provides cash support to households qualified for basic livelihood and medical benefits.

Sejong Special Self-Governing City also provides holiday consolation money to basic livelihood recipients and near-poverty class during the holiday period. Sacheon City in Gyeongsangnam-do pays allowances to the eldest member of households with four or more generations, where the head of the household has had a residence in Sacheon for more than three years and actually lives there.
