Driver Tee Height... "How Is It Determined?"

Half a Ball Higher Than Standard Head Height
Determined by Swing Style, Downward Strike for Low Impact
Find Optimal Combination Through Various Tee Heights at Practice Range

What weekend golfers are curious about is the tee height before taking a shot with the driver. They are confused about how high to tee the ball.

Generally, it is known to tee the ball about half a ball higher than the driver head. This height is to secure both distance and accuracy by hitting the sweet spot. However, Trillium Rose, one of the top 10 instructors in the United States, explains it a bit differently. She argues that tee height should be determined according to the golfer's swing tendency. Rose emphasized, "Many golfers think the driver tee height should be high. But now it's time to change that mindset."

Driver Tee Height... "How Is It Determined?"

Rose advised, "First, understand your own swing," and "after that, you can decide the tee height." Golfers who tend to hit the ball downward have a higher chance of hitting the center of the club by teeing the ball low. If the tee is too high, the club may pass under the ball. This is a fatal mishit. Golfers who use the driver’s loft properly and have an upward hitting style can tee the ball at a medium or higher height. Accurate impact is possible through the correct swing path.

When deciding the driver’s tee height, you must be careful. When practicing tee shots at the driving range, test various tee heights to find what suits you best. A golf swing is not easy to fix. However, you can adjust the tee height according to your current swing style to achieve better results.
