Gangdong-gu Mayor Lee Su-hee Visits Welfare Facilities Ahead of Chuseok to Share Holiday Greetings

Lee Su-hee, the mayor of Gangdong District, visited four welfare facilities on the 25th and 26th ahead of the Chuseok holiday. Starting with Seongnae Comprehensive Social Welfare Center on the 25th, she visited Parangmaeum Welfare Center and Gangdong Kkummaeul, and the next day she visited Amsa Rehabilitation Center to deliver holiday consolation money and encourage the staff.

Mayor Lee visited Seongnae Comprehensive Social Welfare Center to prepare gift packages containing groceries and personally delivered the packages to the homes of elderly people living alone who receive basic living subsidies. Then, at Parangmaeum Welfare Center, a vocational rehabilitation facility for people with disabilities, she worked alongside disabled workers in pairs to pack clothes into wrapping paper.

At Gangdong Kkummaeul, a child care facility, and Amsa Rehabilitation Center, a residential facility for people with severe disabilities, she delivered holiday consolation money and toured the facilities to encourage the staff for their hard work.

After visiting the welfare facilities, Mayor Lee Su-hee said, “It was a meaningful time to work together on preparing gift packages on site ahead of Chuseok and to personally extend holiday greetings to the residents. I sincerely respect and thank the staff who quietly work in the welfare field to help those in need and the volunteers who care for neighbors facing difficulties.”
