A public flyer advertising a parent and child gathering exclusively for white people was found in suburban areas near Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
On the 25th (local time), CBC reported that the police are investigating whether the flyer’s racially discriminatory content constitutes a criminal offense.
The flyer was first discovered last weekend posted as posters in three cities including Coquitlam near Vancouver, known collectively as the 'Tri-City' area. Coquitlam is a representative multicultural city in Greater Vancouver with a population of 150,000 and is also an area with a high concentration of Korean residents.
The flyer also appeared on social media platforms such as Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).
The post advertised a parent and child gathering "among whites," targeting "mothers looking for places where their children can play with other kids who look similar." It further stated, "We ask parents of proud European children to join us in creating an atmosphere where our children feel a sense of belonging."
The local authorities received reports last weekend and immediately began removal efforts. The three city governments issued a joint statement on the day, saying, "Upon receiving reports, we searched the area including all bus stops," and added, "This kind of vile trash is not welcome in our community or anywhere else." They also stated, "We will work to create an environment free of hate."
